Auld Lang Syne
Woke up and found we where nearing the heads, where we stopped for a couple of hours to allow of some papers to be finished off and the staff sent ashore.
Passed the Heads and whilst passing played “Auld Lang Syne” Encountered a heavy swell and our boat having no cargo answered willingly to the motion which soon brought on a very uncomfortable feeling a desire to lay down and die. The sensation grew worse until at bedtime I was so bad that I was just able to crawl under our table, where I lay all night and put in a most unpleasant time. It was the roughest night for the whole trip and with every extra lurch of the vessel there was a crashing of enamel ware and goods of all descriptions which slid from their accustomed places to the floor.
