Arabian Nights

Woke up after spending the hottest night for the trip. Slept with a towel hanging beside my hammock with which I had to mop myself at intervals during the night. The perspiration running down my face and filling my ears.

Passed Aden at 4am and entered the Red Sea with Arabian mountains on right and African mountains on the left.

Passed Dutch steamer name in large white letters reaching from stem to stern in order to protect herself from German submarines. Absolutely the hottest day for the whole trip. During the morning there was another burial service.

Early in the evening we passed the rocks known as 'The Twelve Apostles” a light house being perched on the top of one of them. A very pretty sight as the sun was setting.
